Our tournament began ten years ago as a way to help a retired, disabled firefighter raise money for his daughter. His six year old daughter had contracted a serious childhood illness. We had such a good time raising money and fishing that we just kept doing it all these years. If you enjoy fishing, good food, entertainment, winning prizes and helping kids all at the same time then this is the tournament for you.

How do we do it?

We raise money by soliciting donations from businesses here in Dania Beach, Florida and neighboring communities. Entry fees are also collected from anglers and money is raised from bidding on silent auction items and raffle ticket sales. Our major sponsor for the tournament is the American Maritime Officers School. They are an international school located here in Dania Beach involved in the training of maritime officers in every aspect of operating large merchant vessels. Our other important sponsors include the Publix Supermarkets and the Harbour Town Marina, both of which are local businesses. On the average our tournament will attract two to three hundred anglers fishing from seventy-five to one hundred boats. We are giving cash prizes to the winning anglers up to $2,000 for first place for the single largest dolphin by weight and there are great raffle prizes from many sponsors, including Bass Pro Shops here in Dania Beach.
